Self care Metaphor

Terrariums are a great reminder to the many layers that represent us and how precious we each are. Here’s how to create one:

You will need:

Any style pot or jar

Charcoal: Approx 1 & ½ inches

Indoor Soil mix: Approx 2 inches

Any indoor plant cutting

Pebbles

Spray water bottle any size

Items to decorate with

How to Create one:

1/ With a dessert spoon, place coal as the first layer.

This may represent within ourselves our life experiences and removing toxic surroundings, people or situations that have prevented us moving forward.

2/ Spoon the soil as the second layer.

This may represent our thoughts, creating healthy boundaries

3/ Next create a little hole and place in the plant.

This may represent our growth, connection to self, others and our environment.

4/ Place pebbles on around.

This is our outer selves - what we choose to show or share with others. How we protect ourselves, our values and treat others.

5/ Decorate Terrarium with any object that represents you.

Finally the most important is the water. It represents purpose, a healthy balance of rest, nutrition and exercise in order to survive.

You only need to spray your creation if the soil looks dry.

Spray around the pot and jar. I recommend once or twice a week.

Don’t be concerned if your plant dies. It represents new change. Thank it and embrace a new plant for new chapters. Remember:

We are the creators of our destiny. Be kind to self and others and make everyday matter!
