Letting go of a Grudge

Holding a grudge means to have bitterness or resentment towards someone.

Research shows that by holding a grudge it can be unhealthy to both body and mind. It can feed negative feelings that may impact your quality of life and self care.

Here are some strategies that may assist:

* Self reflect – What was said

* Figure out your part in it and how it impacted you emotionally.

* Consider things that make you feel worthy and activities that are enjoyable. Showing gratitude in the simple pleasures can also help.

* It sometimes help to journal your feelings.

* Meditation can clear the mind and place it in a relaxed state.

* Seek professional assistance. Family and friends mean well but can be opinionated at times.

* Give yourself permission to be kind to yourself and to acknowledge the hurt was real.

* Forgive yourself and the person that hurt you. That doesn’t mean you have to associate with them again. It is just to release to the universe.

* Letting Go is the first step in creating new chapters that are meaningful to you. Don’t let a grudge define you!
